“My hotel overlooked the Central Station Copenhagen, with Tivoli Gardens beyond.  I’d heard that a firework display was planned so got comfortable for a great view.  I sat and watched a massive digital clock on the railway station roof tick over, 20:00, 21:00, nothing, 22:00, 23:00, nothing, no fireworks today!  At zero hour I realised that there was a possible painting.  Midnight Copenhagen, mysterious, like a spy novel.  Who were those people?  Those cars?  A minute captured, a story painted.”
